This apology is a fake optimal expression—a performance designed to gain moral legitimacy without dismantling the oppressive power structure. Jon Stewart is right to tear this mask off, because in this context, the "rhetoric" is the violence itself.
Ironically, this logic of objectification is universal within the power machine. From the press secretary who lasted five days to the ambassador fired for being "too corrupt" for Trump, these individuals are merely disposable parts. Once defined as a tool, one's existence is surrendered to the center of power. Whether it is the demonized immigrant or the discarded complicity partner, they all prove the same point: in the masculine-centric game of power, only those who control the interpretation are "human"; the rest are just consumables.
