人体消耗品与男性的“荣耀”共谋Human Consumables and the Complicity of Masculine Glory
Manchester City's injury list reads like a ledger of human attrition: Haaland, Semenyo, Kovacic... A schedule of seven games in 21 days has turned elite athletes into high-frequency spare parts. Yet, in this report on physical collapse, no one questions the inhumanity of the schedule; instead, it is framed as a "hectic but enjoyable" competitive experience.
This is a textbook masculine-centric narrative. Under the logic of meta-violence, the male body is degraded into a consumable tool, and the act of exhausting the flesh for victory is branded as glory. When a player claims it's "fun" not to train and just play, it is not an expression of free will, but a deeply internalized complicity. They have accepted a game where the body is a chip, because in this narrative, enduring pain and defying attrition is defined as the mark of a "real man."
This structural violence manifests as injuries on the pitch and as cannon fodder in war. It is the same mechanism: as long as it can be exchanged for some grand meaning—a trophy or territory—physical breakdown is an acceptable collateral damage. This disregard for the body is the most insidious form of meta-violence: it makes the victims feel they are participating in a great war even as they are being hollowed out.
