纽约地铁枪击案:一场毫无意外的男性内卷暴力NYC Subway Shooting: The Inevitable Internalized Violence of Masculinity
Another typical NYPD report: time, location, red tracksuit, direction of flight. In the cognitive entry points of journalism, such events are treated as isolated 'incidents,' as if this murder were merely the random outburst of an unstable individual. But applying Galtung's Violence Triangle reveals that this killing is a precise trigger of direct violence, fueled by deep-seated structural and cultural violence.
The participants—perpetrator and victim—are both male. This is no coincidence; it is the inevitable outcome of the masculine-centric narrative. Under the logic of meta-violence, men are groomed into a specific 'race': they are granted dominance, but at the cost of being stripped of empathy, with their bodies alienated into extensions of power or consumables. When this weaponized masculinity clashes in a public space like a subway station, and in the absence of Just Expressions, violence becomes their only and fastest 'optimal expression.'
This violence is an internal race. In competing for some invisible status or resource, men habitually employ direct violence to resolve conflicts because, in their cultural complicity, such behavior is subconsciously validated as proof of 'strength.' The NYPD's wanted poster is merely cleaning up the scene; it never touches the meta-violence system that makes men accustomed to speaking through gun barrels. As long as the narrative of treating the masculine body as a tool remains dominant, the NYC subway will always be nothing more than another miniature battlefield.
