Diplomatic Privilege vs. Colonial Normality
The most absurd part of this attack is not the violence itself, but the 'confidence' of the perpetrators. In international politics, the status of a diplomat is supposed to be the ultimate biological wall, backed by sovereign states and a degree of inviolability. But when masked settlers dare to attack diplomats from Belgium, France, and Poland, it proves that a closed loop of meta violence has been completed in the West Bank: the aggressors no longer fear any external narrative or law because they know they are complicit in the colonial machine, and this complicity grants them an impunity that supersedes international law.
Contrast the details: when diplomats are targeted, the Belgian Foreign Minister speaks out and the EU discusses sanctions. Meanwhile, during this olive harvest, 4 Palestinians are dead and over 100 are injured. For Palestinians, this direct violence is a daily routine, a byproduct of structural violence. Violence only becomes an 'incident' when it touches European diplomats. This discrepancy in the power of definition reveals exactly who is seen as 'human' and who is treated as the Primal Race.
The 'investigations' by Israeli police and the condemnations on X are merely cultural violence shields. They use the vocabulary of 'civilization' and 'law' to mask a simple fact: as long as the settlement policy—the structural layer—remains, this violence is a sanctioned survival strategy. For the settlers, attacking diplomats is not an impulse; it is an existential game of expression, attempting to announce the absolute victory of colonial logic by dismantling diplomatic privilege.
