Peddling Sovereignty as 'Business Opportunity': A Game of Proxy Complicity

When sovereignty is defined as a 'business opportunity,' war becomes an asset restructuring for great powers.

在这种逻辑下,乌克兰不是一个主体,而是一个被租赁的战争实验场,其潜在的 Potential(生存与主权)与 Actual(被掐断的信号和被威胁的情报)之间的差额,就是纯粹的暴力。

Wes Streeting's performance in Washington precisely demonstrates how Western political narratives weaponize a brutal war of survival into a commercial negotiation. By employing the structural language of 'defence-industrial relationship,' he translates Ukraine's existence into a 'business opportunity' for the US. This is not a discussion about justice or freedom; it is a negotiation over the pricing power of a proxy: if supporting Ukraine profits the US military-industrial complex, sovereignty is worth defending; if not, the Starlink switch can be flipped at any moment.

The Starlink row exposes the rawest form of structural violence: Ukraine's right to survive on the battlefield is monopolized by a single private company and the whims of one politician. When Trump throttles satellite signals to force Ukraine to stop bombing Russian refineries just to lower oil prices before an election, the narrative of 'free people determining their own destiny' becomes a complete scam. In this logic, Ukraine is not a subject, but a leased experimental ground for war, where the gap between its Potential (sovereignty) and Actual (cut signals and threatened intelligence) is pure violence.

Streeting's 'appeal' is essentially an attempt to maintain a complicity rooted in a masculine-centric narrative. In this framework, the UK and US act as the 'adults' discussing how to allocate 'assets,' while Ukraine is merely an executive end to be managed, incentivized, or threatened. This meta violence masks a grim reality: whether through support or betrayal, great powers only pursue their own optimal expression in the game, while the subjectivity of the proxy is completely erased.
