Musk's Switch and Trump's Oil: Remote Control over Survival

When survival infrastructure becomes a political chip, technology becomes the most direct tool of violence.

This is not a technical glitch; it is a precision strike of structural violence. Starlink is no longer a communication tool, but a 'survival switch' controlled by private capital and operated remotely by politicians. When Ukrainian soldiers lose connectivity on the battlefield, leading to failed missions and missile strikes, this loss of connectivity is itself violence. In terms of the Violence Triangle, the gap between Potential (the intelligence and communication they should have) and Actual (the severed state) translates directly into casualties.

The absurdity of this game lies in Trump blaming global diesel prices on Ukraine's strikes on Russian oil refineries to justify his pressure. This is a classic weaponized narrative: using a fake economic logic—when the Strait of Hormuz has a far greater impact—to mask the essence of a political transaction. Musk, as Trump's ally, has achieved a physical monopoly over the interpretation of the battlefield via SpaceX. He is not just providing a service; he is defining who is allowed to 'exist' in the combat zone.

The deeper meta-violence is that the US government, by selectively withholding intelligence and restricting technology, has downgraded Ukraine from a sovereign ally to a 'asset' that can be repriced at any moment. Russia's response—massive, unrestrained strikes—proves the consequence of this complicity: when a protector uses survival as a bargaining chip, the aggressor realizes the bottom line has been sold. In this structure, Ukrainian soldiers are the cheapest consumables, silently erased by the complicity of capital and politics.
