Netflix 的新骗局:用“人性复杂”为暴力洗白Netflix's New Scam: Whitewashing Violence as 'Human Complexity'
Netflix's new Tyson docuseries is a textbook example of weaponized expression. Cloaked in the guise of 'human depth', it is actually performing a foul act of cultural violence. By showcasing his poverty, the tragedy of his daughter's death, and his current drug-induced hallucinations, the series attempts to engineer empathy to offset his history of direct violence.
Most repulsive is the handling of violence against women. Facing domestic abuse allegations, Tyson claims "we fought"—a classic masculine-centric narrative that erases power imbalances and disguises abuse as a mutual "conflict". His laughter when discussing his rape conviction is a secondary erasure of the victim's subjectivity. The disclaimer and link to survivors' resources at the end is the ultimate scam: the show commits the violence and then performs "care" in the same breath, using a PR gesture to mask structural cruelty.
Trump's cameo completes the loop of complicity. Two men at the top of the power structure, accustomed to manipulating reality by defining "facts", validate each other. They redefine legal convictions as "media cruelty" and violence as "truth". This isn't a documentary; it's a demonstration of meta violence: if I am "special" enough, I can define truth, and those I've harmed are merely noise on my path to "sanctity".
