男性的“穿衣指南”与被豢养的审美囚笼The Men's Style Guide and the Domesticated Cage of Aesthetics

审美定价权是元暴力的延伸,而“不分性别”的饰品是廉价的特权施舍。
Aesthetic pricing power is an extension of meta-violence; 'genderless' jewelry is just a cheap concession of privilege.

《卫报》这份所谓的秋季穿衣指南,本质上是一次极其标准的 masculine-centric narrative 操演。它在教导男性如何通过精准的“零件组合”——一件 Prada 风格的袖口、一副模仿奥牛教授的玳瑁眼镜、一个所谓的 It boy 造型——来完成一次关于阶级与品味的表达博弈。

最讽刺的是文中那句“珠宝不需要是男性化的” (Jewellery doesn’t need to be masculine)。

This autumn style guide from The Guardian is a textbook exercise in masculine-centric narrative. It instructs men on how to execute an expression game of class and taste through a precise assembly of 'parts'—a Prada-esque cuff, tortoiseshell glasses mimicking an Oxford professor, or the look of a designated 'It boy.'

The most cynical part is the claim that "Jewellery doesn’t need to be masculine." While framed as a progressive plea, it is a classic case of weaponized expression. It doesn't dismantle aesthetic barriers; instead, it facilitates a one-way expansion of privilege by 'allowing' men to enter feminine domains. Under the meta-violence of patriarchy, a man can signal avant-gardism through 'crossing over,' while a woman attempting the same 'masculine' expression is still branded as a 'shrew' or 'abnormal.'

The guide positions the man as the subject of aesthetics and the clothes, accessories, and skincare as disposable objects. From the 'Hollywood' haircuts to the homage to Fight Club, it reinforces a specific identity of the 'successful/tasteful' man defined by capital. This is merely another form of complicity: fashion media and brands conspiring to manufacture a new, seemingly effortless but strictly regulated 'optimal expression' template for men.

When a man puts on 'intellectual' glasses, he isn't consuming eyewear; he is consuming the monopoly on the interpretation of 'authority and wisdom.' And that monopoly is exactly where all structural violence begins.
