Structural Deprivation Masked as 'Employment Support'

Replacing survival benefits with job training is a textbook case of using cultural narratives to mask structural violence.

所谓的“就业支持” (support to get into work) 在这里成了一种假.

This is a textbook example of weaponized narrative: translating 'benefit cuts' as 'reform' and packaging the 'deprivation of survival rights' as a 'moral crusade.' The government is attempting to use a seemingly positive cognitive entry point—'helping young people back to work'—to mask a brutal structural violence: forcibly pushing physically and mentally disabled youth into a labor market that doesn't want them by cutting off their basic survival guarantees.

In this game, the government acts as the rule-maker, while disabled youth under 25 are the defined objects. The so-called 'employment support' here is a fake optimal expression. It demands that the structurally disadvantaged play the role of the 'eager worker' to exchange for survival resources. In reality, when the health element of Universal Credit is axed and 'subsidized jobs' remain theoretical, the gap is direct violence. For a disabled youth already struggling in poverty, 'vocational training' without cash relief is merely learning how to be rejected by employers while starving.

Most disgusting is the mechanism of complicity: from Labour to the Conservatives, and even Reform UK, while they fight over numbers, they are highly aligned on the meta-violence narrative that 'benefit dependency is a disease and work is the cure.' They collectively define the 'normal' citizen as a production tool capable of generating GDP. Anyone who cannot be efficiently converted into labor has their right to exist downgraded to a 'mistake that needs correction.'

Claims of 'protecting the most vulnerable' are mere PR plugins to hedge political risk. The real violence lies in the system redefining 'eligibility,' transforming tens of thousands of young people from 'subjects of rights' into 'objects of management.'
