We are conditioned to define climate catastrophes as 'Acts of God,' a narrative that masks the complicity of power—the power that decides who lives on the coast, who gets the sea walls, and who is left behind during evacuation. This framing of structural inequality as 'natural bad luck' is pure cultural violence.
Sea levels are rising, but the floor of power is sinking. When the 'floor is raised,' those without a vote in the social structure are always the first to be submerged.
