The role of CTU, a Florida-based firm, is a prime example of weaponized expression—packaging political assassination as a business contract and regime change as "profit margins."
The most cynical complicity lies here: while the US celebrates its federal courts' ability to punish the "executors," it maintains the meta-violence that keeps Haiti in collapse. Haiti has no president, 80% of its capital is gang-controlled, and the UN-backed force is a complete scam in terms of staffing. The irony is sharp: the US has the logistical capacity to airlift suspects to Miami five years later, but zero interest in establishing basic security in Haiti.
This is a manipulation of the cognitive entry point. By centering the trial in American courts, the US defines itself as the "guardian of justice," effectively masking the structural violence it has fostered in Latin America through private security and sovereign interference. This justice is performative; it cleans up the discarded pawns while ignoring the shattered social structures it helped create. For the people of Haiti, the gap between Potential and Actual remains a yawning abyss, regardless of how many convictions are handed down in Florida.
