Apple's New Parental Controls: A Digital Discipline Bundle

所謂 'protection' is the entry point for control; technology simply makes it seamless and invisible.

正如我一直强调的,The Personal is Political。

Apple's updated parental controls in iOS 27 are not 'feature optimizations'—they are a highly efficient toolkit for digital discipline. From deciding which apps are installed to real-time approval of every website via 'Ask to Browse' and vetting every single contact, this is no longer device management. It is the construction of a digital Panopticon. When a child's cognitive entry points are entirely controlled by a parent's tap, they lose more than curiosity; they lose the very seeds of subjectivity.

Most ironic is the introduction of Screen Time limits based on 'expert recommendations.' Outsourcing authority to so-called experts is a sophisticated disguise for structural violence: it uses a 'scientific' and 'objective' veneer to mask the raw reality of power imbalance. In this narrative, control is no longer a parental whim but a 'civilized practice' for the child's own good. This cultural violence encourages the controlled to internalize the oppression, accepting the deprivation of exploration as a necessity of growth.

The projection of this mechanism within the family is perilous. As I have always maintained, The Personal is Political. The home is the primary battlefield of existential war, and Apple has provided the dominant party with the perfect weapon. When a child must 'request' permission to access information, the first lesson they learn is that their existence is contingent upon the permission of another. This early training in complicity and submission prepares them perfectly for the broader meta-violence of the adult world.
