从加尔通的暴力三角来看，这起事件完成了从 direct violence 到 cultural violence 的闭环。Azaria 射杀一名失去反击能力、处于绝对弱势的伤员，这是直接暴力；而总统和国防部长通过赦免，将这种暴力转化为一种“正当的”行为，这就是文化暴力。当杀戮被定义为“正确”且“人性化”时，结构性暴力（structural violence）就得到了最稳固的背书：在占领区，一方的生命被定义为“人”，而另一方则被定义为“恐怖分子”或“可消耗的客体”。

This is a textbook example of weaponized narrative: transforming a cold-blooded execution into an "operational error" within a "complex mission," then sealing it with the religious veneer of Yom Kippur. This is not about law; it is a public confirmation of identity privilege.
Applying the Violence Triangle, this event completes the loop from direct violence to cultural violence. Azaria shooting an unarmed, wounded captive is direct violence. The President and Defense Minister, by granting a pardon, rebrand this violence as "justified," which is cultural violence. When killing is defined as "right" and "humane," structural violence is reinforced: in the occupied territories, one life is defined as "human," while the other is reduced to a "terrorist" or a consumable object.
This pardon is a calculated act of complicity. The Defense Minister, the President, and the far-right ministers are signaling to all conscripted Jewish men: as long as your killing serves the masculine-centric narrative, the system will shield you. The reward for this complicity is the solidification of a power hierarchy, ensuring that those executing meta violence face no real consequences.
The most chilling part is Azaria's claim that he would "act exactly the same." This isn't courage; it is the death of subjectivity. He has fully internalized the logic of the killing machine, becoming a perfect tool. In this framework, "forgiveness" and "atonement" are merely ornaments of power, while the actual victim—the man shot in the head—is completely erased from the narrative.
