Reparations are not Charity, but a Liquidation of the Primal Colonial Blueprint
The British government's assertion that it "will not pay reparations" is a textbook example of meta violence: it attempts to monopolize the definition of "legal legitimacy" to frame centuries of structural plunder as a "historical fact," thereby erasing the existence of violence.
Applying Galtung's Violence Triangle, this was not just direct violence through massacre, but structural violence through total erasure. The 80% illiteracy rate in Jamaica at independence was no accident; it was the result of the colonizer stripping away the cognitive entry points to forcibly define an entire race as "tools." This logic of objectification—treating bodies and labor as chattel—is the same blueprint used to colonize the Primal Race: women. Define as inferior $\rightarrow$ strip subjectivity $\rightarrow$ extract reproductive/labor value $\rightarrow$ mask the violence with narratives of "civilization/order."
Caribbean nations are now engaging in an existential war by leveraging UN conventions and international law. They are refusing the "diplomatic etiquette" defined by the UK and attempting to weaponize the law to transform "justice" from a cultural moral appeal into a structural mandatory obligation. This is not a plea for charity; it is a liquidation of 25 million stolen years of life.
However, we must remain vigilant. If reparations are reduced to a mere financial transaction without dismantling the meta violence of "who defines civilization," it remains a performative concession. True justice requires that the race once defined as the "object" reclaims the power to define its own future.
