The police shouting 'Where is the phone!' during the beatings reveals the only remaining cognitive entry point in this game: expression. For prisoners defined as 'blanks' who 'don't exist,' a phone is the only tool to establish a connection with the outside world and confirm their own existence. Seizing the phone is seizing their right of expression, erasing them physically and narratively. When the officer screams 'I am the law,' he is performing the role of meta-violence: in this field of complicity between money and power, the right to interpret reality is fully monopolized.
This is not just a humanitarian catastrophe; it is a precise act of complicity. The US provides the funding, the dictatorship provides the black site, and together they execute the 'cleansing' of a specific group. The ultimate irony is the gay man from Egypt who faced persecution at home, only to be outsourced to another hell that views him with the same hatred. The narrative of a 'safe third country' is the biggest scam of all.
