In the scientific community, this narrative of "getting closer" is a form of weaponized expression. It doesn't offer a concrete fact, but an expectation of "imminent arrival." This expectation is the knocking point for research grants and a tool for maintaining the monopoly of the academic hierarchy over cognitive entry points. As long as dark matter remains "mysterious" yet "detectable," the game continues.

We are used to seeing this as pure rational exploration, but remember: any power to interpret the "Truth" is a form of power. When scientists announce they "may have found something," they are exercising a pricing power—defining what constitutes "real" matter and what evidence counts as "detection." This is essentially a game over cognitive entry points. If it turns out one day that dark matter doesn't exist and was merely a result of our flawed understanding of gravity, then all previous "detection" attempts will be revealed as a massive academic scam maintained by complicity.
