This selective efficiency in enforcement is itself a form of meta violence—it subconsciously signals to aggressors that as long as you are aggressive enough and align with a certain masculine-centric "patriotic" narrative, you will be granted higher tolerance.
The most disgusting complicity is seen in the attacks on RNLI volunteers. Lifesavers are labeled "traitors" for performing humanitarian duties, while far-right groups like Patriot Platform use decentralized networks to purge "co-conspirators" within the system. This is a classic existential war: the far-right attempts to seize the power of interpretation by defining who the "true patriots" are, thereby designating all dissenters as enemies.
The Home Office's push for mask-free zones may look like good_news, but if this hardness only appears when they are "forced into a corner," it remains a performative concession. The real gap in the Violence Triangle is not whether police ask you to remove a mask, but how society, through cultural tolerance, allows these men to believe that acquiring power through intimidation is "justifiable."
