The Shelter of Civilization and the Complicity of the Abyss

The so-called 'crisis of liberalism' is merely meta-violence rebooting with a new skin.

The article attempts to warn Europe through a typical liberal idealism narrative, framing the far-right rise as an accidental 'fall.' But through the lens of the Violence Triangle, this isn't a fall; it is the delayed manifestation of structural violence at the cultural level. The so-called 'tolerance' and 'conciliation' have often been nothing more than a civilized shelter built by a masculine-centric narrative to mask an inherent and unextinguished exclusivity.

The rise of the AfD, Musk's amplification, and Farage's performance are essentially a weaponization of 'cognitive entry points.' They no longer pretend to be guardians of civilization; instead, they redefine the political nature of identity through biological definitions (biologically improper). This is pure meta-violence: monopolizing the power to define 'citizen' and 'civilization' to categorize non-conforming populations as 'non-human' or 'others.'

Most ironic is how the 'optimal expression' of these far-right politicians is mutating. Old players like Farage find that traditional 'moderate camouflage' fails in the face of the globalized narratives of MAGA and the Kremlin. The current rule of the game is: whoever can more extremely define 'friend vs. foe' wins more value in the attention game of digital spaces. This is an existential war where the weapons are racism and conspiracy theories.

The article's conclusion, hoping in the 'power of tolerance,' is too naive. In the face of such structural violence, simple 'appeals' are merely performative concessions. Unless we dismantle the base of meta-violence—the masculine-centric narrative that defines who is 'civilized'—'avoiding the abyss' is just putting a fancier carpet over the hole.
