This drama of trading 'paused killing' for 'diplomatic posture' is essentially the weaponisation of the expression of 'peace.'
The absurdity lies in the participants. The 'great negotiators' sent by Trump operate on a simple logic of complicity: in a masculine-centric narrative of power, the fate of a sovereign nation is decided through private deals between powerful men. Under this meta-violence, Ukrainian land and civilian lives are reduced to bargaining chips. While Kushner and Witkoff fly in the clouds, factory workers and 17-year-old girls die in drone strikes. This spatial asymmetry is the embodiment of meta-violence: the power of interpretation and decision is monopolized by a few men, while the costs are borne by the Primal Race and the structurally weak.
A 'peace proposal' without details is nothing more than a cognitive scam. It manufactures the illusion that 'something is being done,' thereby diluting public rage toward ongoing violence. When a system habitually uses performative concessions to maintain structural plunder, the negotiation itself becomes a form of violence. It does not shrink the gap between Potential and Actual; it uses a cultural violence called 'diplomacy' to make that gap seem acceptable.
