The Complicity of Trump and the GOP: A Suicidal Game of Subjectivity Death
Many are puzzled by Trump's apparent self-sabotage ahead of the midterms—the Iran war, the Canada feud, the data center push. This analysis is naive; it attempts to use traditional "party interest" logic to decipher an autocrat who has already completed a power mutation.
Through the lens of the Violence Triangle, we are witnessing structural violence. The GOP has devolved from a political entity with an independent agenda into a mere appendage of Trump's personal expression. Under the logic of meta-violence, Trump no longer needs a functional Congress as a rubber stamp because the Supreme Court has granted him near-absolute immunity. When institutional checks fail, Congressional power becomes a set of hollow writs, while he controls the actual machinery of violence and the power of pardon.
This is a brutal form of complicity. GOP elites have subconsciously agreed to surrender their subjectivity and play the role of followers in exchange for survival on the fringes of power. This "fake optimal expression" gave them short-term dividends, but the cost was the death of their subjectivity. Now, Trump is executing his "true optimal expression": by manufacturing a GOP defeat, he proves the party is useless without him, completing his cognitive upgrade from "party leader" to "sole deity."
Behind this narcissism lies an extreme power logic: he doesn't care if the GOP wins; he cares that the GOP realizes they can only win by clinging to him. Turning teammates into disposable fuel and then mocking their uselessness is a classic masculine-centric narrative power game. The GOP isn't facing a blue wave; they are facing a puppeteer using them as a test case for his cognitive entrance.
