“Things Happen”:元暴力的最高级傲慢“Things Happen”: The Ultimate Arrogance of Meta-Violence

When killing is defined as something that simply 'happens,' the aggressor completes the final erasure of fact.

这正是 meta violence(元暴力)的运作方式。

JD Vance’s remark, “Sometimes things happen,” is a textbook example of weaponized expression. Linguistically, he employs a passive, de-subjectified narrative: death was not 'manufactured'; it simply 'occurred,' as naturally as the weather. The cruelty of this expression lies in its ability to erase the agency of the perpetrator at the cultural layer, transforming a calculated military strike into a random natural disaster.

This is precisely how meta-violence operates. Within the masculine-centric narrative, the powerful monopolize the right to define 'truth.' Vance simultaneously constructs a fake myth—claiming with “100% confidence” that the US never targets civilians—while using “things happen” to absolve the actual slaughter. This logical loop is incredibly efficient: if civilian deaths occur, they must be 'accidents' or 'errors,' never systemic violence. In the interpretation of meta-violence, the US represents 'civilization' and 'order,' and civilization, by definition, does not commit violence.

The most sickening complicity is the reduction of a wedding—a ritual of life and union—into a mere dot on a coordinate system. Whether it was the tragedy at the Minab school or this wedding strike, in the cognitive entry of power, civilian bodies are merely 'collateral damage.' This capacity to 'objectify' other human lives is the exact same blueprint used to colonize and plunder the Primal Race, now replicated in international politics.

When Trump labels journalists reporting on dwindling munitions as “treasonous SCUM,” he is announcing that in this game, there is only one truth: the one defined by power. Any effort to expose the gap between Potential and Actual is simply defined as treason.
