Most repulsive is the 'rock 'n' roll cosplay.' By flouting smoking bans to play the rebel fighting 'corporate assholes,' Homme provides a smoke screen for meta violence. When labels like 'bad boy' or 'outlaw' are venerated, violence ceases to be violence and becomes an 'artist's privilege.' This is pure complicity: record labels, media, and fans cheering the 'master's return' collectively construct a safe zone where perpetrators can erase their crimes through PR.
From Chris Brown to Johnny Depp and now Homme, the logic is identical. They use the audience's nostalgia for their art as a cognitive entry point to decouple 'artistic value' from 'moral bankruptcy.' In reality, this decoupling is itself a form of structural violence. It signals to all women that as long as you hold enough power or create 'meaningful' art, your physical predation of the Primal Race can be forgiven. This 'redemption' requires no forgiveness from the victims—only a successful PR audit by capital.
