When the state defines evidence as non-existent, the victims' suffering is defined as non-existent in legal and administrative dimensions. This is pure meta-violence: the monopoly of interpretation, the manufacturing of facts. The blood samples existed in the lab, but the veterans were erased from the archives.
It is farcical how this complicity is hereditary in British politics. From the infected blood scandal to the nuclear veterans, from former health secretaries to the current PM, they all play the same game: cover up $\rightarrow$ get exposed by journalists $\rightarrow$ admit being misled $\rightarrow$ call for justice. This isn't problem-solving; it's a performative let-down. A true optimal expression would be admitting the state treated soldiers as disposable biological tools between 1952 and 1967 and initiating immediate compensation, rather than sighing in The Guardian in 2026 that this is a 'great scandal.'
The essence of this war is the massive gap between Potential and Actual. These veterans should have had the right to know and receive medical relief, but they were stripped of everything, left only to prove they 'existed' within the encrypted Merlin database before they die. The pricing power over life data remains firmly in the hands of the co-conspirators in London offices.
