The London Market Fire Sale and Political Complicity

When national narrative screams 'reindustrialisation' while institutions permit 'fire sales', it is structural violence.

The UK Prime Minister preaches 'reindustrialisation' while the London Stock Exchange is effectively becoming a budget buffet for global Private Equity. The takeover of Bodycote—a global leader in metallurgical tech—by US-based Veritas at a mediocre 25% premium isn't market competition; it is a precise asset strip.

There is a sharp irony in the board's expression: they spend paragraphs praising their 'splendid' execution, only to cave in the final sentence to 'macroeconomic uncertainty'. This is a textbook 'fake optimal expression'. Under the structural pressure of a neglected mid-cap market, management chooses to play the role of the 'compliant seller' to secure personal certainty, at the cost of the company's subjectivity and the nation's industrial capacity.

The silence from Westminster is the deepest layer of complicity. When over 150 prime companies are sold off like 'family silver', the political class barely squeaks. This silence isn't blindness; it's a choice. Within the current meta-violence narrative, short-term financial liquidity is rebranded as 'market efficiency', while long-term industrial sovereignty is dismissed as 'obsolete nostalgia'.

This is how structural violence operates: by establishing a 'rational' financial rulebook that makes predation look natural. Once a state loses the power to define its industrial reality, 'reindustrialisation' becomes a total scam—nothing more than a PR wrapper for foreign capital to extract value from local soil.
