所谓的“经济D-Day”不过是一场昂贵的男性自嗨The 'Economic D-Day' is Just an Expensive Masculine Ego Trip

将经济绞杀定义为“胜利”的策略,本质是元暴力的低级重复。
Defining economic strangulation as 'victory' is merely a low-level repetition of meta-violence.

Trump’s naming of economic sanctions as “Operation Economic Outcast,” and specifically invoking “D-Day,” is a classic move. It attempts to wrap financial blockade in the cloak of heroic militarism. In a masculine-centric narrative, victory is defined solely by the opponent’s “capitulation” or “collapse.” In this logic, the suffering of ordinary civilians—hyperinflation and collapsing living standards—is dismissed as a necessary cost or a hidden form of structural violence, rendered invisible by the grandeur of the narrative.

This strategy is a textbook operation of meta-violence. It doesn't seek a sustainable Just Expression but only cares about who holds the dominant position in the game. Trump confuses ramping up pressure with having a strategy, revealing a shallow understanding of power. He tries to force a choice between “death” and “submission” by creating an extreme environment of survival pressure. However, he ignores that Iran is seeking its own optimal expression: a combination of endurance and rerouting, making the cost of economic strangulation prohibitively expensive for the global financial system.

The irony peaks when this “Economic D-Day” hits the wall of Chinese resistance. As Beijing penalizes firms that comply with US sanctions, the US finds its own weaponized narrative rebounding. In this existential war, the US attempts to monopolize the interpretation and pricing power of the global economy, but when that power is no longer recognized, the threats become mere performance. As the Treasury Secretary admitted, he doesn't want to “blow up the global financial system,” proving that the gap between the potential and actual state of this conflict is simply a void filled with violence borne by ordinary people.
