LIV Golf 的崩盘:一场关于“定义现实”的昂贵 scamThe LIV Golf Collapse: An Expensive Scam of 'Defining Reality'

When capital tries to force a new reality with money, reality always reclaims its voice through the bills.

The mass layoffs at LIV Golf are not just a business failure, but a failed case of weaponized expression. Saudi PIF attempted to manufacture a 'new reality' by dumping $6 billion into the system, believing that enough capital could redefine the pinnacle of golf and tear a hole in the traditional power structures of sports, turning athletes into appendages of capital's will.

This was essentially a gamble over the 'right to price.' LIV tried to buy out the loyalty of stars and used festival-like entertainment to mask a void of sporting essence. This 'optimal expression' was a fake—it relied on a single, unsustainable injection of cash rather than a just, self-sustaining system. Once PIF realized the cost of defining this reality was too high, or when the meta-violence of geopolitics shifted, they pulled the plug unilaterally.

The most ironic part is the PR language: calling a collapse a 'transition' and layoffs the 'end of LIV 1.0.' This narrative attempts to package a total crash as an art of iteration. But for the laid-off staff and the vendors with unpaid invoices, this cultural violence is merely a veil over one fact: they were the disposable consumables of a capital experiment.

Now, LIV seeks 'LIV 2.0' by offering equity to players—another attempt at complicity: asking the victims to share the risk to maintain a bankrupt illusion. With the PGA Tour refusing to welcome back the defectors, the outcome of this existential war is clear: those who try to buy the rules eventually get purged by the rules themselves.
