The logic of this project is profoundly masculine-centric. From Don Ritzen's faith in the 'Great Man' theory to MVRDV's pursuit of visual shock, the entire process is an existential war over ego. They don't care if the building is truly regenerative; they care about seizing the power of definition by creating a 'new world wonder' to claim the 'savior' identity. The ultimate irony is that this 'green gospel' relies on complicity. The architects, the capitalist, and the jury together constructed a loop: defining what 'cool' green is, and then manifesting it at an exorbitant cost. When the physical walls of reality—such as cost overruns and construction failures—hit, they quickly compromise by 'dialing down' functions, yet they cling to the narrative of 'saving the world.' It is nothing more than a clumsy attempt to reduce complex socio-political struggles into a performance of individual heroism.
