The irony lies in how this violence is masked at the cultural layer. The despair of a sailor's wife is treated as a footnote, while the official narrative focuses on 'rest and recreation.' This weaponized romanticization hides a grim truth: under meta-violence, both the soldiers executing orders and the politicians issuing them are complicit. Men in war are simultaneously the executors and the victims; they are trained to believe that 'exhaustion is glorious,' completing their sacrifice to power through the death of their own subjectivity.
The USS Lincoln is finally docking, but this is merely recharging the battery so it can be plugged back into another 'existential war' defined by men. The real victory would not be docking, but recognizing that the logic of treating human flesh as a spare part is a total scam.
