The 18-Year-Old Cliff: Institutional Abandonment of the Primal Race

Legal 'adulthood' is a designed abandonment, pushing the vulnerable toward death.

Violence = Potential − Actual。这些 care leavers 本可拥有正常的生存潜能,但结构层 (structural layer) 的资源分配在他们满18岁那一刻被粗暴地切断。政府将‘独立’包装成一种自由的诱惑,实际上是利用‘成年’这个法律标签,合法地将社会责任从公共部门转移给一个个毫无支撑的个体。这种‘独立’是对弱势者最残酷的 scam。

At 18, the law grants 'adulthood,' but in the realm of structural violence, it is a cliff. A child told at 17 that they are unwanted once the payments stop, or a young man dying of insulin deficiency and rotting for two weeks—this isn't a 'drop-off' in support; it is institutional homicide.

Violence = Potential − Actual. These care leavers had the potential for a normal life, but the structural layer of resource allocation was brutally severed the moment they hit 18. The government packages 'independence' as a lure of freedom, while using the legal label of 'adult' to legitimately shift social responsibility from the state to isolated individuals. This version of 'independence' is a scam designed for the vulnerable.

The most nauseating part is the 'humanized' narrative. Ministers speak of 'love and connections,' calling for neighbors to extend a hand of friendship. This is classic cultural violence: using the warmth of individual morality to mask the ice of structural deprivation. When female care leavers face a suicide rate 15 times higher than the general population, the solution isn't 'neighborly friendship,' but a total reconstruction of resource power. Claiming that love must 'grow organically' to fill an institutional void is merely a tactic for complicity to evade structural accountability through performative care.

These individuals—trans people, asylum seekers, mothers stripped of their children—constitute the most colonized and stripped 'Primal Race' of this society. They are defined as 'beneficiaries,' then precisely ejected from the system at their height of vulnerability. This logic of abandonment mirrors colonialism: define the subject, utilize them, and once their utility expires, declare them 'independent' and watch them die.
