Good Good”Using Female Bodies as Footnotes for New Drivers: Very "Good Good"
A male co-founder shoves a female employee to the ground to menacingly protect his new driver. This deleted ad is a textbook example of Meta Violence: in a masculine-centric narrative, the female body is merely a prop to be pushed around, serving only to highlight the male's absolute ownership of property. By framing this as "humor," the ad attempts to make the audience internalize a specific fact—that male desire supersedes female physical integrity.
The PR response from Good Good Golf is equally telling. They pivot to keywords like "inclusive" and "values," which is pure cultural violence. True inclusivity isn't about deleting a clip after a backlash; it's recognizing that using the assault of a woman as a punchline is a form of complicity in structural violence. The statements from Callaway and the PGA Tour are mere templates, maintaining a facade of civility without disrupting the commercial flow.
That this ad even made it to the upload stage proves that within the company's field of complicity, this expression was viewed as "safe" and "funny." In their cognitive entry point, the female employee has no subjectivity. They weren't filming an ad; they were filming a miniature exercise in dominance.
