This operation is essentially a camouflage for cultural violence. Productivity is fetishized in macro-narratives as the sole metric of economic health, yet it masks the underlying structural violence: have the workers defined as 'more productive' actually seen an improvement in their quality of life? Or are they simply being squeezed for more surplus value in the same roles, only to be quantified as a pretty growth percentage?
Most ironic is Morgan Stanley using the phrase “The vibes they are a-changin’” to describe this shift. When economic analysis devolves into a game of 'vibes,' facts become malleable clay. This complicity—stretching from official data to think-tank analysis to market sentiment—serves one purpose: to manufacture a belief in a non-existent recovery, ensuring the public accepts current structural oppression through a redefined reality.
As long as the Actual does not move toward the Potential, no matter how many rulers you switch, the gap remains violence.
