被掩盖的“困难”与被消费的悲剧The Erasure of Risk and the Consumption of Tragedy

用“陷入困难”这种中立词汇掩盖结构性风险,是典型的文化暴力。
Using neutral terms like "got into difficulty" to mask structural risks is a form of cultural violence.

The police used an incredibly perfunctory and misleading phrase in their report: "got into difficulty." In the narrative habits of journalism, this expression reduces a family tragedy to a random, individual "accident," as if the family were simply unlucky or suddenly encountered some nameless "difficulty" while swimming.

This mode of expression is essentially cultural violence. By blurring the specific causes—was it a lack of beach safety warnings? Was the risk of local currents inadequately communicated? Or was there a delay in emergency response?—it shifts the responsibility from structural management failure to individual "misfortune." When a tragedy is defined as "getting into difficulty," it becomes an isolated case rather than a systemic loophole that demands questioning.

More ironically, the police ended their report by asking the public for "video footage." Under the logic of meta-violence, this request transforms the scene of death into consumable digital material. The annihilation of a family is processed at the cognitive entry point as fragments for "finding clues." This instrumentalization of death proves once again that in an order dominated by masculine-centric narratives, individual life experiences are always subordinate to the administrative need for a "factual closure."
