Modern Mimicry of Feudalism: Stonegate's Debt Hunting

The so-called 'aligned interests' are merely the pricing of survival by capital at the apex of structural violence.

Stonegate claims their relationship with tenants is 'directly aligned'—a complete scam. Under the tied tenancies model, 'mutual benefit' is nothing more than a weaponized narrative used to lure tenants into a meticulously designed financial trap. Tenants shoulder all operational risks, while the company ensures its win by monopolizing beer supply and manipulating repair bills.

This isn't business; it's a modern mimicry of feudalism. In feudal relations, the lord extracts surplus value by controlling the land. Stonegate acts as the invisible lord, controlling not only the premises but also using NDAs to weaponize silence, ensuring that structural violence completes its loop without public interference.

Most repulsive is the treatment of Phil, an Alzheimer's patient. In the logic of meta-violence, a person who loses cognitive capacity is no longer a human, but an 'asset package' to be maximized. Stonegate deliberately dragged out the exit process while knowing Phil was incapacitated, allowing debts to snowball, and finally robbing a family of their dignity under the guise of 'dilapidations'. This is not just structural violence; it is direct violence against human dignity.

Domiciled in the Cayman Islands and owned by TDR Capital, the company uses cross-border structures to evade regulation while harvesting profits. When a company reports 'strongest first-half profits ever' while sending bailiffs to harass the family of a cancer patient, it declares its core value: the value of a human life is lower than its debt recovery rate.
