Meta's Algorithmic Prison: A Colonial War for Cognitive Entry

Addictive design is not a technical glitch, but the precise weaponisation of cognitive entry.

Meta is being sued by 29 states, and the core of the issue is that it has transformed 'expression' into a meticulously engineered trap. Infinite scrolling, likes, and visual filters are not 'benign features'—they are classic Weaponized Expressions. By precisely manipulating dopamine, Meta establishes a fraudulent evaluation system in young minds, seizing the power to define 'what is real.'

This is essentially a colonization of cognitive entry. Meta utilizes algorithms to create a closed loop of Cultural Violence: filters define aesthetics, likes define value, and FOMO serves as the electronic shackle keeping this prison operational. For adolescents still navigating their Biological Walls, this deprivation of subjectivity is devastating—they are lured into performing roles approved by the algorithm for short-term validation, at the cost of the death of their own subjectivity.

Meta's defense is the most cynical part: calling these 'industry-wide challenges.' This is textbook complicity logic. When all social giants accept user-time as the sole KPI, they form a massive network of complicity, maintaining a system of Structural Violence centered on the extraction of attention. No matter the amount of damages, as long as the underlying logic of the algorithm remains intact, this is merely performative justice.

The true significance of this trial isn't the $200 billion, but whether it can, like the tobacco lawsuits of the 90s, strip away the mask of Cultural Violence and force the public to realize: when you think you are 'socializing,' you are actually being passively consumed within a reality defined by a CEO.
