Banning Games Won't Stop Meta-Violence Bullets

Replacing structural governance with software bans is a classic PR scam.

Violence = Potential − Actual。一个 14 岁少年能持有高威力枪械并进入校园,这说明在 direct 层,枪支管控已经彻底失效;而在 structural 层,东南亚校园中弥漫的这种“copycat phenomenon”其实是元暴力的某种激进化表达。当一个社会将“强力”、“支配”和“毁灭”定义为男性化叙事中的某种极致表达时,枪击案就成了他们寻找“最优解表达”的畸形尝试。他们不是在模仿游戏,而是在模仿这个世界对“权力”的定义。

The Philippine government's reaction to school shootings is farcical: banning a game called Gorebox. The underlying logic suggests that violence stems from a specific "external input," and by cutting off the cognitive entry point, students will return to being docile lambs. This is not just naive; it is a form of structural violence. By "gamifying" and "individualizing" the issue, they successfully mask the actual violence gap within the social structure.

Violence = Potential − Actual. The fact that a teenager could carry high-powered firearms into a school proves that at the direct level, gun control has utterly failed. At the structural level, the "copycat phenomenon" sweeping Southeast Asian campuses is an intensified expression of meta-violence. When a society defines "power," "dominance," and "destruction" as the pinnacle of masculine-centric narratives, shootings become a distorted attempt to find an "optimal expression." They aren't mimicking a game; they are mimicking the world's definition of power.

The university president's statement—"We do not want any of these things to happen"—is a ritualistic platitude that hides a deeper complicity: a society that allows high-powered weapons to circulate among youth is itself a massive violence factory. Banning an app takes a single memo, but dismantling the meta-violence that sustains this masculine-centric narrative requires a total reconstruction of resource allocation, psychological relief, and power structures. Unfortunately, governments prefer a simple scam, as it spares them from facing the actual blood.
