The naming of "Operation Puppet Master" is an act of extreme meta violence. It presupposes that protesters are not autonomous citizens but merely "puppets" in a secret network. When DHS agents infiltrated Signal chats, community meetings, and even recorded boxing practices in churches, they weren't investigating crimes—they were hunting for a way to define reality.
The most sinister complicity occurs at the narrative level: the government forcibly linked lawful anti-ICE protests to the weaponized concept of "domestic terrorism." By designating "antifa" as a terrorist organization, the state disguised its own structural violence (immigration crackdowns) as the maintenance of order, while framing the resistance to that violence as a "criminal conspiracy." This is textbook cultural violence—altering definitions to make surveillance and political repression appear as "national security."
More absurdly, records show agents actively enticing activists to discuss "direct action." This agent provocateur behavior proves the government wasn't looking for crimes; it was manufacturing them. They attempted to manipulate expression to justify their own surveillance. This is no longer law enforcement; it is a fantasy of political retribution.
When a regime feels threatened by a "non-violent communication training" at a public library, it isn't fearing violence—it is fearing the moment people realize they are being colonized and begin to ally. The financial auditing of unions and nonprofits is a direct attack on the capacity to organize. It is an attempt to sever the ties of solidarity and push individuals back behind the biological walls of isolation.
