His 'respect' is merely adding a layer of humanist sugar-coating to a blood-soaked masculine-centric narrative, provided the other party is also a 'civilized' hunter.
The Scottish Greens are correct: the countryside should not be a private playground for the wealthy. When 'tradition' is defined as 'managing nature for the sake of killing,' that definition itself is meta-violence. It erases the Potential of the land as a public asset and ecological barrier, compressing its Actual state into a priced hunting ground. The 'Glory' here is nothing more than the total objectification of life and land by power.
