National Security: The Universal Cloak for Cognitive Entry

When capacity fails to compete, redefine 'risk' to manufacture a forbidden zone.

The FCC's ban on humanoid robots like the Unitree G1 is just another iteration of the 'National Security' trope. In the weaponized narrative of international politics, 'national security' is a perfect black box used to disguise competitive inferiority as a righteous defense. At its core, this is a game for the power of definition.

When Chinese robotics achieve a certain Potential dominance in cost and iteration speed, the US government faces an existential war. If they cannot win in the Actual plane through innovation, the fastest route is Structural violence—using administrative power to sever cognitive entries and market access by labeling the opponent as a 'risk.'

This logic is ubiquitous in tech: if you can't beat them at $\tau$-scaling, declare their laws unreliable; if you can't compete commercially, label them as spy tools. It is the mechanism of 'redefining reality when reality doesn't cooperate.' It doesn't matter if the robots are actually eavesdropping; what matters is manufacturing fear to ensure the US market completes a subconscious 'othering' of Chinese tech.

This ban is a performance by complicity. The government provides the decree, the media provides the 'risk' narrative, and domestic firms gain a protective barrier. Together, they build a scam convincing consumers that a dancing robot is a key handed to an enemy. The price of this scam is the structural strangulation of genuine technical collision, using administrative force to maintain a fake, lagging 'security' status quo.
