The FIFA Power Game: Defection of Complicitors and Narrative Skinning

So-called 'governance reform' is usually just a realignment of complicitors after unfair profit distribution.

The current FIFA farce is a textbook projection of structural violence within the top-tier power arena. Infantino's attempt to monetize 21% of the World Cup's equity has triggered the interests of regional power centers like UEFA. This is not a moral quest for 'governance' or 'independent review'; it is an existential war over money and pricing power.

Look at the vocabulary of the opponents: 'leadership that serves football, not seeks to command it,' 'leadership is not about power.' This is a clumsy weaponisation of narrative, attempting to wrap a pure dispute over profit-sharing in the guise of a just expression. In reality, UEFA, Concacaf, and the AFC have been deeply bound in complicity with FIFA's power structure for a decade, only now discussing 'independent reviews' because they found themselves as the objects being harvested.

The most cynical part is that the bargaining chip for this power struggle is the U-20 Women's World Cup. European teams threaten a boycott, meaning the professional trajectories and expression of female players are once again treated as disposable tools for male power struggles. Under the logic of meta-violence, the success of a women's tournament is merely a leverage point for blackmail; their subjectivity is completely erased.

If this so-called 'new framework' eventually prevails, it won't be because football became more just, but because a new mechanism of complicity was reached. As long as the power of interpretation remains monopolised by a few male bureaucrats, this 'reform' is simply a switch from one patronage system to another, more covert one.
