在公共空间接吻:一场关于“亲密”的叙事scamPublic Kissing: A Narrative Scam of 'Intimacy'

Quantifying relationship quality via PDA frequency is a performance designed to mask structural void.

This piece attempts to use a study of only 461 people to link PDAs with relationship quality. This typical 'lifestyle' reporting is essentially peddling a weaponized narrative: that 'expressing' love through public kissing equals a high-quality bond. This is not just naive; it is a scam.

From the perspective of existential war, expression in public spaces is never about communication; it is about the establishment of identity. When celebrities kiss for the cameras, or couples do so on a bus, they are casting a vote for the identity of 'being happy.' This expression is performative, extracting intimacy from private emotional connection and converting it into a observable, quantifiable social currency. When researchers claim PDA is a way to communicate closeness, they ignore a crucial point: under the complicity of patriarchal structures, a woman's 'intimate expression' in public often carries a passive attribute—she performs the role of the 'woman in love' to secure a recognized identity label.

Most ironic is the use of 'skin hunger' to scare readers into increasing physical contact. This is using biological facts to mask structural violence. A person's anxiety and depression often stem from their disempowerment within the social structure, not merely from a lack of kisses. Reducing mental health to a 'lack of touch' reduces complex social suffering to simple biological deficiency, encouraging people to forget and stop questioning why their lives are so void that they must rely on kissing in a supermarket aisle for a brief anxiolytic effect.

True optimal expression should be a just expression based on subjectivity, free from the external gaze. If the quality of a relationship requires 'display' in public spaces to be validated, then that relationship may already be on the verge of the death of subjectivity.
