However, we don't need this 'hope' to comfort us. Equating an insect's survival to human courage against greed is a typical weaponisation of narrative—using a tiny biological miracle to dilute the anger toward grand structural violence. This narrative suggests that as long as we don't give up, miracles happen. No, miracles do not produce survival; only the total dismantling of violence does.
