The most sickening irony is the UN's role as a perfect complicit actor. Farhan Haq employs a typical masculine-centric narrative, claiming the Secretary-General condemns both Russian strikes on civilians and Ukrainian strikes on Russia. This so-called 'balanced reporting' is pure meta violence. By equating the slaughter of an aggressor with the counter-strikes of the invaded, it erases structural power imbalances and provides a 'neutral' cultural cover for ongoing violence.
A telling detail: Russia defines the killing of civilians as 'targeting military facilities,' while portraying Ukrainian strikes on economic targets as 'aimed at civilians.' This is the weaponisation of expression: whoever controls the definition controls the manufacture of facts. When death tolls in UN reports become growth rates of 37% or 114%, these numbers become mere KPIs in a geopolitical game.
War is never about 'liberation' or 'justice'; it is the ultimate existential war. When missiles are 'drone-ified,' the threshold for killing is lowered, and the gap in the Violence Triangle is filled by the war machine. In this logic, the only truths are the destroyed refineries and the dead crewmen. 'Humanitarianism' is just a PR lubricant used between the production cycles of mass-produced missiles.
