Trump's 'Oil Tears' and the Failure of Narrative Weaponisation

The powerful most often weaponise the role of the victim when they lose pricing power.

Donald Trump's complaints about oil companies, as captured in the cartoon, are a textbook example of a fake optimal expression. A power center that controls the entry points of the state's violence apparatus is attempting to gain moral empathy by pretending to be a victim of capital exploitation—a clumsy attempt at weaponising narrative.

This expression tries to disguise the 'rule-maker' as the 'rule-victim,' but such camouflage is meaningless against structural violence. There is no real exploitation between oil companies and Trump; there is only a complicity of resource allocation and power exchange. When he complains, he isn't fighting for the marginalized; he is grieving the loss of his own control over energy pricing.

This reinforces the logic of meta-violence: in a masculine-centric narrative, the shift of power is merely a handover of interpretation rights between different groups of men. Whether politicians or oil tycoons, they conspire to maintain a patriarchal structure that objectifies resources and treats the environment and human lives as consumables. These 'complaints' are nothing more than emotional venting after a temporary loss in the existential war, not a reflection on structural injustice.
