Drones, Bombs, and the Logistics of Civilized Violence

War narratives degrade bodies into means, while 'critical infrastructure' serves as a physical shield for meta-violence.

The discovery of an explosive drone at Leipzig airport is framed as 'terrorism' or 'state terrorism.' But strip away these weaponized terms, and it is merely a violent game of 'who defines reality.' The airport is classified as 'critical infrastructure'—a term that is itself a form of structural violence, partitioning physical space into 'core' and 'periphery,' where the flow consists not of humans, but of military hardware and war machinery.

Notably, the drone was found near a Ukrainian Antonov aircraft. Slogans like 'Be Brave Like Bucha' are framed as resistance in romantic narratives, but in the logic of meta-violence, they are precise coordinates. When a state degrades the bodies of another's people—soldiers or civilians—into consumable tools, such 'bravery' becomes the fuel for a war narrative. Whether it is the Kremlin's assassination plots or NATO's defense logic, both are power games under a masculine-centric narrative: men decide where to fight, men decide who gets blown up, and then use 'civilization' and 'order' to mask this primal violence of domination.

The CEO of DHL discussing 'minimizing influence on customers' during a quarterly call is a textbook example of the complicity posture. To them, explosives, assassinations, and war are merely a-typical fluctuations in the supply chain. This ability to bleach violence and quantify death is the ultimate form of structural violence: it convinces us that as long as the logistics remain smooth, the world is still operating 'normally.'
