Within the Violence Triangle, this plan is extreme xenophobia at the structural layer, while performing as the 'guardian of order' at the cultural layer. Farage even attempts to package the infringement of another nation's sovereignty as a 'favor' to the French government. This narrative logic is abhorrent—it objectifies the victims (migrants) as debris to be 'cleared,' while casting the aggressor (the Royal Navy) as an efficient scavenger.
Most ironically, this 'militarized border' logic is an extension of meta violence: using hegemony to define who is eligible to exist and using force to designate who is 'non-human.' When a politician claims that naval deployment can 'solve' migration, he is selling a dangerous fantasy: that complex structural crises can be erased through simple physical violence. This fetishization of military power is essentially the projection of the masculine-centric narrative of 'conquest and control' onto the political arena.
