The gallery uses 'space constraints' and 'overcrowding' as weaponized expressions, employing neutral administrative narratives to legitimize structural violence.
This is more than a disparity in perks; it is an existential erasure. In the gallery's power map, white curators are 'humans,' while outsourced minority guards are 'functional components.' By placing them in a space designed for storage, the management's cognitive entry point effectively downgrades these individuals' biological status to that of cargo. This physical carving of space precisely executes the complicity of race and class: allowing the elite to breathe sunlight while the marginalized crouch under pipes.
The most cynical part is the response: suggesting that installing a 'subsidized vending machine' constitutes an improvement. This is a performative concession, attempting to offset systemic discrimination with a cheap consumer symbol. It tells the segregated: you don't need fresh air or dignity; you just need a machine that sells KitKats.
This is textbook Structural Violence. When an institution displays the light of the Renaissance on its walls while maintaining an Edwardian caste system in its basement, that 'civilization' is merely a mask for meta-violence. They protect the purity of the art while practicing the filthiest form of segregation.
