血缘洗白与好莱坞的“基因叙事”scamBloodline Washing and the Hollywood 'Genetic Narrative' Scam

Genealogical digging isn't about restoring history; it's about legitimizing the performance of objectification.

Ninth cousins, three times removed. This statistically irrelevant kinship is packaged by MyHeritage and Hollywood as a 'chosen one' narrative. Why link Dakota Johnson's portrayal of Marilyn Monroe to bloodlines? Because in the logic of meta-violence, mere acting is 'appropriation' or 'consumption,' but with blood, it becomes a sacred 'inheritance' or 'homecoming.'

This is a textbook case of the weaponisation of expression. By digging up a 17th-century common ancestor, the producers create a cognitive entry point: the actor isn't just playing Monroe; she is 'activating' a genetic potential. The most insidious part is that it once again reduces Monroe to a symbol defined by phenotype. No matter how many times you play her, or how distant the bloodline, Monroe remains an object to be gazed upon—a 'skin' to be worn even a century after her death.

From Benedict Cumberbatch to Taylor Swift, Hollywood is using 'genetic archaeology' to manufacture a fake sense of authenticity. They use fragments of the biological wall to mask structural exploitation. Interestingly, when they uncover ancestors who were enslavers or witches, these labels are quickly converted into 'cool' cultural capital or dramatic tension. Meanwhile, the actual violence—the erased subjectivities not allowed into the narrative—is quietly buried under these 'family curiosities.' It is a complicity of pricing power: whoever controls the interpretation of bloodlines can package a commercial performance as a relay of souls.
