Look at the budget checklist: tax cuts for pubs, clubs, and music venues; sharing income tax with mayors. This is merely fine-tuning within the existing masculine-centric economic structure. The so-called "stability" and "fiscal discipline" are simply the unspoken rules of the complicity: as long as the top-tier wealth accumulation logic (such as substantive wealth and property tax reform) remains untouched, the system can buy compliance through fragmented benefits at the margins.
True power let-go would mean giving the structurally deprived—especially women pushed out of public spaces by the Motherhood Penalty and the Primal Race defined as weak by colonial logic—the power to define budgetary priorities. But Healey’s plan mentions none of this. He promises "stability," and for the oppressed, "stability" is often just another name for structural violence.
Power hasn't left Westminster; it has simply learned to distribute itself more cleverly across postcodes, making the co-conspirators feel that the spoils are being shared more fairly this time.
