But the structure of this game is clear: the so-called Iran war is a classic existential war waged by masculine power centers in the public sphere. By defining 'national security' and 'geopolitical strategy,' they seize the power of interpretation, reducing countless bodies to consumable tools. All side effects—surging oil prices, inflation, and gutted public services—are then sanitized as a 'challenging inheritance.'
The most cynical complicity lies in the logic of budget allocation. When the NIESR warns the government to choose between defense spending and social welfare, they implicitly treat defense as an untouchable baseline. Meanwhile, the sectors most sensitive to structural violence—adult social care and youth mental health services—are pushed to the sacrificial altar. This means that to maintain a facade of 'security' defined by men, the system decides to cut the actual remedies that could reduce the gap in the Violence Triangle (Potential − Actual). The logic of this structural violence is simple: prioritize the machinery of force and define the quality of life for the marginalized as a disposable variable.
Do not be deceived by professional jargon like 'tax reform' or 'land value tax'; these are merely micro-adjustments within the existing framework of meta-violence. As long as the power of decision remains monopolized by those chasing 'grand meanings,' and as long as war is packaged as an inevitable, civilized game, the 'trade-off' will always move in one direction: sacrificing those objectified in the narrative to feed an insatiable machine of violence.
