Claiming to be a "worldwide leader in social impact by transforming lives," the only impact it actually manufactures is the conversion of refugees, migrants, and juvenile detainees into billable assets. In this logic, the human being is no longer a subject but an object to be managed, confined, and exploited. This is structural violence in its purest form: violence is no longer a discrete act of assault, but a ten-year contract worth £539 million.
The most cynical complicity exists between MTC and the government. Despite the Manston site being officially described as "overcrowded, squalid and insanitary," MTC wasn't blacklisted. Instead, after a brief dip in revenue, it secured an even larger contract. This proves that in the game of power, the living conditions of refugees are irrelevant; the only metric that matters is "confinement efficiency." As long as these marginalized people—essentially a modern Primal Race—are effectively sequestered, the state is happy to pay a premium to these violence outsourcers.
Note the detail: while the company reported a loss, the highest-paid director's remuneration increased by 5%. This exposes the brutal reality of the existential war: while victims struggle in squalor, the executors at the top of the complicity chain hedge their risks through bonuses. From US ICE facilities to UK asylum centres, MTC has achieved a globalized replication of violence. They don't produce security; they produce the "state of being confined" and hold the pricing power over it.
